If you recollect we had spoken about the Reva NXR when the company planned on setting up a new manufacturing unit. At that time, we estimated the NXR to travel 120Km on a single charge, and we were wrong the NXR is capable of doing 40Km more, that's 160Km on a single charge.

That's the higher end model, the NXR Intercity with a Lithium ion battery pack and capable of a top speed od 104 KPH. The lower end NXR City will have a lead acid battery pack, which will limit its range to 80 km and a top speed of 80 KPH.

But at what cost? The basic Reva NXR will cost a whooping $15,000 to $34,000 thats approximately double the cost of the current Reva being sold in the Indian market. But nothing to fear as Chetan Maini, the creator of the electric car has promised it will be priced much lesser in the country.

A quick fact, the Reva has been named after Chetan's mother. The company received an endorsement from General Motors to make an electric Spark, thats expected to hit the road in a years time. Reva definetly seems to be on a road to a much greener future.
