The Tata Indica Electric may not be the front runner for the Tata group when it comes to the electric and hybrid car variants for a long time. The latest news from Tata's stable, the nano platform will be used to create electric and hybrid cars.

In a book published by the company to highlight its innovations, "The Nano is just not a car for Tata Motors, it is also a platform to create more high-end models that will sell for higher prices and yield better margins."

The company has decided to shift its focus to greener platform, which is evident with its Indica Electic set to launch in Norway this September. If you recollect the Air Car that the company funded in France and furthermore Tata's are working on the electric Ace.

The Tata's seem to be heading in the right direction with these moves to help the future generations on this planet. Lets hope India can see some of these electric variants soon.
